评估周期

Academic programs and identified co-curricular units engage in annual assessment of student learning outcomes.  Reports of assessment practices, 发现, and the way 发现 were used and shared are submitted annually.  的se reports are evaluated and returned with feedback to encourage ongoing improvement of our collective assessment practice.

Academic programs and other units develop and implement assessment plans best suited to the requirements of the discipline and/or accrediting agency and the expectations of the faculty and students. 的y then summarize this information via four 文档s:

• 的 结果图书馆, which identifies all of the student learning outcomes the program assesses and connects them to undergraduate or graduate learning goals;

• 的 课程地图, which identifies the courses and experiences that address each of the outcomes (not required for co-curricular units); the

• 考核计划, which may be a mutli-year 文档 that maps out the assessment cycle over time (likely for academic programs) or a one-year 文档 that maps out the assessment just for that academic year (likley for co-curricular programs):

评估报告

的 Student Outcomes 评估 and Success Report (SOAS Report) is submitted to the Office of 评估 and 认证 annually.  对于学术课程, 截止日期是10月15日, though college deans may set earlier internal deadlines.  的 due date for co-curricular programs is determined annually.  

的 SOAS Report includes information on 1) student learning outcomes assessment, 2) student success indicators, and 3) career readiness practices.  Faculty and staff reflect on their practices, 学生的成绩, and ways to use 发现 for continuous improvement.

时间轴

8月/ 9月 - Program Chairs will be asked annually to verify that the learning 结果图书馆, 课程地图, and assessment plan on file with the Office of 评估 and 认证 are current.  Updates can be made at any time, and the 评估 and 程序有效性 导演 is happy to provide guidance. Student performance data relative to outcomes will be collected throughout the academic year.  

9月初 - Program Profile student success data that is needed to complete part 2 of the academic SOAS Report will be distributed within a few weeks after fall census. 部门 Chairs will receive these and responsible for distributing them to the faculty. 

11月17日 - Student Outcomes 评估 & Success Reports (SOAS Reports) are due from each academic program.  College deans may set earlier dates for initial review.  Please refer to college-based communications for more details. 

2024年1月/ 2月 - SOAS Reports are evaluated and returned to program chairs to recognize strong practices and assist with improvement of overall assessment capacity and practice.
